Yarone S. Zober, Esq., Chairman
Yarone Zober is the Chief of Staff for Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the URA and of the Pittsburgh Economic Industrial Development Corporation.
He also serves as a Commissioner for the Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission as well as on the boards of Riverlife
and the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.
Previously, Mr. Zober has served as Chair of the Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh; Chair of the Pittsburgh Housing Development Corporation; Vice President of the Highland Park Community Development Corporation; President of the Pennsylvania Young Democrats; on the Allegheny County Transition Team, Economic Development Committee; the Pennsylvania Business Tax Reform Commission; the City of Pittsburgh Reapportionment Committee; and City of Pittsburgh Advisory Committee on Community Based Organizations.
Mr. Zober served as City Policy Director and Director of General Services for Mayor Bob O’Connor. On August 6, 2006, Mayor O’Connor appointed Mr. Zober to the position of Deputy Mayor, a position held by Mr. Zober until Mayor Ravenstahl took office on September 1, 2006.
Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office, Mr. Zober was an attorney with Reed Smith, LLP and also Obermeyer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel.
Mr. Zober currently lives in the Highland Park neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh with his wife, Tiffany, and daughter Isabel.
The Honorable R. Daniel Lavelle, Vice Chairman
The Honorable Robert Daniel Lavelle is serving his first term as representative for City Council District 6 and his first term as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors to the URA. He is also the chair of the City Council Urban Recreation Committee, overseeing the Office of Parks and Recreation.
Councilman Lavelle was formerly Chief of Staff for the 19th Legislative District's Honorable State Representative Jake Wheatley, Jr. and served as Legislative Aide for former Councilman Sala Udin.
He is currently a board member of The Hill District Consensus Group, Wireless Neighborhoods, Oakland Business Improvement District, Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, and Pittsburgh Community Services, Inc. In addition, he is an Assistant Boy Scout Master for Troop 93, based in the Hill District.
Councilman Lavelle is also a proud licensed Real Estate Agent with Lavelle Real Estate, Inc., a family owned and operated full service real estate firm since 1951. He is also Vice-President of a local film company, Fear No Man Productions, LLC.
Councilman Lavelle lives in the Hill District neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh with his wife Rachel.
The Honorable Jim Ferlo, Treasurer
The Honorable Jim Ferlo is currently serving his second term as Pennsylvania State Senator, and second term as Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the URA. Formerly, a 14-year Pittsburgh City Councilman and two-term Council President (1994 – 1997), Senator Ferlo has been incorporating his own passionate style of community activism since the late 1960s.
As Board Treasurer, Senator Ferlo has been a leader in shifting the mindset of local development and investment to refocus attention on neighborhood-based and green building initiatives.
At the State level, he is a vocal supporter in the drive to expand and implement the Commonwealth’s Main Street and Elm Street programs, and has been a pioneer in envisioning ways that local communities can take advantage of these and other state programs.
Senator Ferlo resides and is a homeowner in the Highland Park neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh.
James T. Kunz, Jr., Board Member
Board member James T. Kunz, Jr. is the Business Manager for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 66.
The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local No. 66 has provided contractors with competent and qualified Operating Engineers and Operating Engineer Apprentices for the last 100 years. Local No. 66 represents over 7,000 members in their jurisdictional area, consisting of thirty-three counties in Western Pennsylvania and three counties in Ohio. These 7,000 brothers and sisters work in the field for contractors, private businesses and municipalities.
He is currently serving his first term as a member of the board of directors for the URA.
Bill Rudolph, Board Member
Bill Rudolph is a principal in McKnight Realty Partners and a member of the investment committee. As President of Wendy's of Greater Pittsburgh, he developed the finance, administration and real estate areas of the business. With Bill's oversight, McKnight Realty Partners Corporation acquired or developed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of commercial
real estate over the last 30 years.
Mr. Rudolph, serving his second term on the Board of Directors for the URA, also holds a position on the board of directors with the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership.Active in a number of other community service organizations, Bill serves as President of the Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh. He holds numerous leadership positions on the boards of local and national charities, and educational institutions.
