Through a suite of loan programs,
the URA's Business Development Center (BDC) helps Pittsburgh businesses leverage the capital necessary for their growth and success. Whether your business is building a new facility to accommodate expansion, seeking working capital to underwrite growth, purchasing or leasing new equipment, or all three, the URA is ready to assist.
The BDC offers a variety of ‘gap’ loan financing products and has a network of technical assistance providers to achieve this mission. We will work with most any business and lender to make good deals work.

The Storefront Renovation Program Grant provides up to 50% or $5,000 for business or commercial property owners for storefront improvements.

The BDC achieves its mission by:
- Providing ‘Gap’ financing loans for commercial real estate and business financing Assisting businesses through the BDC’s network of technical assistance providers and partners.
- The BDC offers a variety of loan financing products for commercial real estate development and small and medium size business development. These are ‘gap’ financing products; meaning they work in conjunction with private equity and private debt to help businesses complete the financing for their business growth and expansion.
- In addition to being a source of financing, the BDC can assist businesses directly or through a network of partners with a variety of business needs; including: business planning, manufacturing process optimization, renovation planning, technology planning, legal planning, starting a business, etc.
