South Side Works

The old LTV steel mill is gone, but South Side Works has re-emerged as an engine for prosperity and as a powerful symbol along the Monongahela River once more. Vacant when purchased by the URA, the site has been redeveloped by the Authority, South Side community organizations and the private sector, all of which shared a vision for a multifaceted complex that would serve the City and its residents in innovative ways.

Summerset at Frick Park

One of the City's most important and ambitions housing initiatives, it is the transformation of a 238-acre, environmentally degraded wasteland to a shining new community of 713 homes spanning the Squirrel Hill and Swisshelm Park neighborhoods. Summerset not only creatively reuses an industrial site, but it also provides a new revenue stream for the City.

Bedford Hill

Bedford Hill Phase I development was originally initiated in 1996 when the Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh in conjunction with the Bedford Resident council was awarded a $26.6 million HOPE VI Grant to revitalize the Bedford Additions Public Housing Neighborhood.

Pittsburgh Technology Center

The Pittsburgh Technology Center is a hub of innovation, application and production, where emerging technologies are shepherded from creation to implementation. The Center provides an attractively designed, high-quality environment to meet the needs of both established and new companies involved in the development or application of advanced technologies.

Washington's Landing

Washington's Landing is the mixed-use development on the 42-acre Herr's Island located on the western bank of the Allegheny River, approximately two miles from Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle. This project involves the revitalization of a once blighted island into a high-quality, multi-use development, encompassing a full service marina, market-rate housing, office/research and development/light industrial uses, a rowing center, and a public park.

Crawford Square

Crawford Square is an 18-acre residential development located on the eastern edge of downtown Pittsburgh. It is a gateway between the downtown business area and the nearby Hill District. Crawford Square represents a new and vital living area that recalls the architectural traditions of the neighborhoods to which it is connected.
