TZ - The Pittsburgh Technology Zone
The Pittsburgh Technology Zone is made possible by the generous support of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
The Pittsburgh Technology Zone (TZ) is a state designated Enterprise Zone.
As a state designated Enterprise Zone, the TZ is equipped to carry out its mission “To help make Pittsburgh’s diverse, economically distressed, inner-ring neighborhoods technology ready, technology savvy, and prepared to attract, accommodate and accelerate ‘New Economy’ businesses” utilizing a variety of tools, including:
- Professional service and consultant contracts to carry out business assistance activities in the TZ
- Several business financing tools, including:
- Enterprise Zone (EZ) Tax Credits
- Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credits
- Lowest prevailing interest rates and priority consideration for:
- PA Industrial Development Authority low interest loan financing
- Machinery and Equipment Loan Fund (MELF) low interest loan financing
- Small Business First (SBF) low interest loan financing
- And more
- URA technical assistance in preparing and submitting financing applications and creating and administering RFPs for business assistance activities
Businesses located in or locating to the TZ should make themselves aware of the benefits of the TZ. Please use this site to gain familiarity with the TZ and explore the benefits of the TZ.
We also encourage community organizations, lenders and other interested parties to be aware of the benefits of the TZ for its business and entrepreneurial clients.
