    Request for Proposals: Metals Recovery for the Nine Mile Run Slag Pile in the Swisshelm Neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh

    The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is accepting Proposals for Metals Recovery in the Nine Mile Run Slag Pile, located in the Swisshelm Park neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. The subject site is approximately 72 acres, 24 acres of which is underlain by slag varying in thickness from 1 to 80 feet. The selected firm is to recover metals contained within the slag pile. Following the work, the property is to become the third and final phase of a residential development. Additional exhibits referenced in the Request for Proposals can be provided upon request.

The goal of the RFP is to select a single redeveloper to complete a high-quality residential development using all three available parcels (the "site"). The goal of this RFP is to select a redeveloper to complete a high quality redevelopment that can incorporate elements of the Larimer Land Use Vision Plan that is referenced in the Community Process section of this RFP. The School is located at 1802 Jancey Street in the Morningside neighborhood of the City of Pittsburgh. The goal of this RFP is to select a redeveloper who has the ability to complete a high quality "green" housing or mixed-use redevelopment that links the residential and business districts and creates density. The Garden Theater Block is bounded by West North Avenue, Reddour Street, Eloise Street and Federal Street. This block is anchored by a former movie theater and former Masonic Hall.
