Compliance Assurance

The desire to remain in Downtown Pittsburgh led Jerry Shafran of Compliance Assurance to turn to the URA for financing assistance. Says Shafran, “I was introduced to the URA early on and found that they fit in so well, not only geographically, but as a partner in helping us stay downtown.” Compliance Assurance provides regulatory intelligence for the insurance industry through a management software platform.

Through the URA’s Entrepreneur Fund, Compliance Assurance received funding to help the company grow. In fact, Compliance Assurance was the first company to receive funding through the Entrepreneur Fund.

Sometimes being the first can be painful due to growing pains, but Shafran said, “they made the process easy and very similar to other funding. The URA had a real openness to understanding our business and our specific needs.” The URA programs are designed to meet the needs of small businesses and help them grow. Designed to work effectively with every financing option available the Entrepreneur Fund reduces risk that frees up cash flow by reducing the equity requirement and potential exposure.

Finding the risk is something Shafran knows about and felt that the URA’s openness to learning his business was one of the most important factors. “Their willingness to adapt their infrastructure to meet our needs made the URA so easy to work with and is the main reason their investment has helped our company grow.”

And that growth keeps another business in Downtown Pittsburgh.

The goal of the Pittsburgh Entrepreneur Fund is to assist entrepreneurs and stimulate business growth in the City of Pittsburgh in a variety of industries including Information Technology, Life Sciences, Green/Energy and other high growth enterprises. You can learn more by clicking here.
