“I didn’t feel like I was the recipient of something free. I was actively involved."
Shirley Roberts, a Carrick homeowner, repaired her outdated, barely functional bathroom through the URA’s Homeowner Assistance Program, a program of the City of Pittsburgh's Housing Opportunity Fund. Mrs. Roberts didn’t just receive financial assistance. She actively collaborated with her contractors, selecting fixtures, a grout color, and a layout to transform her space. The result was a full, accessible, and beautiful bathroom that enhances her safety and comfort, so she can continue focusing on what’s important - building memories with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who visit.
